Logs and claim safety

Claims, event claims, bonuses, rerolls, failed rewards, event starts and ends and every admin command are written to logs/cobbletasks/audit-YYYY-MM-DD.jsonl (UTC days), one JSON object per line. It is a plain file on purpose: no database driver is needed on either loader, and it can be searched with grep or jq:

{"time":"2026-10-16T21:04:11Z","type":"claim_task","player":"…","name":"Steve","task":"cobbletasks:capture_pokemon","period":"daily","period_id":"d:2026-10-16","scope":"player"}
jq -c 'select(.type=="reward_failed")' logs/cobbletasks/audit-*.jsonl

Files older than audit_log_retention_days are deleted. Turn the log off with "audit_log": false.

  • A finished task whose reward includes Pokémon is not claimed while the player’s party and PC are full; they are told to free some space.
  • Each reward part (every item, the loot roll, XP, each Pokémon, each command) is given on its own. A part that fails, for example a mistyped command, is logged and written to the audit log as reward_failed, and the rest of the reward and the claim carry on.
  • Players with finished, unclaimed tasks get a warning shortly before the daily or weekly period ends (daily_warning_minutes, weekly_warning_minutes).
  • Progress shows as a toast that fills up as a task moves, without opening the screen (progress_feedback). Players can switch the toast, the chat messages and the sounds off for themselves, see Player settings.
